She told me to join her
In amongst the dust bunnies
And spider webs
I said no

In the mad darkness
And insane quiet
I said no
Wednesday:
The monster under the bed
Screamed in anguish
She cried out in pain
Morphine-pain
I thought about it
But I still said no
Thursday:
The monster under the bed
Called out again
The monster under the bed
Wanted a friend
The monster under the bed
Was quiet for once.
Friday:
Last night I went under the bed
And tonight I called out upwards
Join me under the bed?
