Remember what it feels like to write words, to write code, that you come up with on your own. Don’t lose sight of that. Don’t forget. Don’t let the new toys convince you they’ve “got this”. It’s not that they’re lying: they just make words appear in a certain order that looks like they do.
Don’t ever give up your critical thinking skills. Every word the infernal machine produces needs to be checked. Every. Single. Word. Reading comprehension never mattered more than it does now.
If you’ve divested all thought to the infernal machine, there’s still time to stop, and recover. But that window is closing fast. You’re not falling behind if you stop.
Critical thought was always life’s lesson. Not how much content you produce. If you want content, I can lean on the keyboard and create streams of content.
But if you know how something works, you can build it again. And if you automated it, you can do it again quickly.
The infernal machine can summarize lists and translate words. Sometimes it lucks into doing a good job.
Your job is to do the thinking. Never give that up.
