I am very tired today. I slept enough hours, but I guess the weekend took its toll. I worked all day on Saturday at the office to get an important synchronisation tool upgraded.
It seems that this week is my Week of Theatre.
Tonight I have rehearsals for the two productions I’m involved in with the Franklin Players. One is a piece I am directing called “The Survivor”, about a family’s evening that goes awry while watching Survivor on TV.
The other is a piece called “Bar and Ger” by Geraldine Aron, and I’m playing the role of Bar. Those lines are evil, but I managed “Macbeth” last year. At least I’ve got Bar’s opening lines down: “Knock, knock!” ๐
The shows are part of a One-Act festival we’re holding over the two weekends at the end of March and the beginning of April (31/03, 01/04, 07/04 and 08/04).
Tomorrow night is our Franklin committee meeting, which is at my house and I have to cater. I think eight large pizzas should cover everything. I must just remember to get one without cheese for our technical director. Yes, pizza without cheese. I know, I know, but he’s weird anyway – we call him Jesus because he has long hair and a beard and wears robes on Sundays.
Wednesday night is rehearsal night again, and then Sunday is technical run through for the two main productions we’re doing. The second (apart from “The Survivor”) is a spoof of Indiana Jones, called “Illinois Jane and the Pyramid of Peril”. It’s a hoot.

Why is it that newspapers and big corporate types always try to show they they are making an effort on this day – once a year. How often are we bombarded with the war in <insert country> – or x doing y – so we need to support them or made aware of it. But HIV/AIDS – no we need 1 day of the year to make everyone aware of it and show "we care" – PLEASE, it makes me sick
