Yesterday (Sunday), I was again disconnected by Sentech. When I called the help desk, I was informed that my debit order was unsuccessful, and therefore I was not allowed on the network. When I demanded to know how a debit order is supposed to take place on a Sunday, the technician simply told me to call back today because no one was in the accounts department to help me. When I swore at him, he demanded that I treat him like a human being. I told him I'd treat him like one if he started behaving like one.

The same thing happened on 1 January 2007, which was a public holiday, plus they overcharged me for traffic because their system didn't calculate the change over from 2006 to 2007 at the right time.

So now I've written to ICASA. This is what I said:

Dear ICASA

I wrote an email to the chairman, Mr Colin Hickling of Sentech on 2 January 2007, outlining a number of complaints I have with Sentech. To date I have had no response. I have attached this email as an addendum.

I also wrote to ISPA to complain about Sentech, and although I am in communication with them, nothing has been done either, to date.

Yesterday, on Sunday 1 April 2007, I was AGAIN illegally disconnected by Sentech. I was advised by email (which I couldn't download because I was disconnected!) to telephone the call centre to have my issue resolved. When I called, I was informed that my debit order had not been successful, so I would only be reconnected today (Monday). OF COURSE IT DIDN'T GO THROUGH! IT WAS SUNDAY, FOR GOODNESS SAKE! For a whole day, I was unable to work online, which impacted my company's revenue stream and productivity. Who can I sue?

This constant activity on Sentech's part is unacceptable and fraudulent. Banks do not perform debit orders on a Sunday, and yet I have NOT had any problems with any of my other service providers (Internet or otherwise), regarding loss of service, over the course of my natural life when it comes to debit orders on a weekend. I have a contract with Sentech to provide me service, and I am not getting it.

I demand that you take this matter extremely seriously. If you do not, I will take legal action against Sentech, ISPA, yourselves, and the minister of communication.

Sincerely
