Randolph Well what an interesting morning. I was notified that NCANE.COM had been suspended this morning because of a phishing scam directed at MySpace.com users. Several short URL had been created that pointed at a phishing site, and posted on several MySpace profiles.
The site is back up again, and I made short work of the phishing URL, plus reported the IP address to the relevant service providers. I have since banned the address, and also banned the entire MySpace.com domain and anything to do with them. I don't want to be associated with the site at all.
While going through the URL database on the ncane.com site, I also noticed a number of URLs that I expired by default (they looked dodgy), and fixed a potential exploit in the URL creation code.
All in all, an interesting morning.
