I don’t remember where I saw this, but I still want to share it with you.

There’s something happening in the world. It might be an event, a group of people, a company, a product. It’s something that you wouldn’t ordinarily participate in.

Therefore… It’s not for you.

If it’s not for you, ignore it. No one needs to hear your opinion. Go look for something that is for you instead.

By the same token, there may come a time where I’m reading social media, or watching a movie trailer that doesn’t grab my attention, or I’m invited to a party with people I don’t want to see.

Guess what? It’s not for me.

Do you get it? Sometimes things happen that aren’t for you. Try saying it out loud. “That’s not for me”.

If it’s not for you, it’s none of your business. Walk away. Your life is too short to care that much. Take the time to care about things that are for you. Family, community, theatre, camping, hiking, dancing, writing, wearing dog costumes and going to parties.

That’s your thing. I’m not going to judge you if it’s not for me. It’s none of my business.
