Tom Cruise has been dropped from Paramount – they refuse to renew his contract. Apparently it's because of his behaviour recently. I don't blame them (Link to article: http://ncane.com/29).

Also, the IAU has officially decided what a planet is, with the following description (from the article): "a celestial body must be in orbit around a star while not itself being a star, and it must be large enough in mass for its own gravity to pull it into a nearly spherical shape". (See related link)

This means that three new planets will be added to the current set of nine, and possibly dozens more which are seen fitting the description, especially in the Kuiper Belt.

So for the last time, here are the nine I remember from school: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto.

The three new ones are Xena, Charon and Ceres. I'm so happy that Xena is going to be a real planet, because she kicks ass! By the way, the reason I included Tom Cruise in this post is because if they're ever stuck for a planet name, Suri is available.
