Via Washington Post:
Elliot Page, the Oscar-nominated actor best known for the 2008 film “Juno,” came out as transgender on Tuesday, sharing the news in a long social media post.
“Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot. I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life,” Page wrote. “I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self.”
IMDb has already been updated. Wikipedia was nearly done when I looked.
Yes there is some incongruity in your brain when someone transitions, because this is something new you have to learn about them. It is especially discombobulating to folks if it’s someone really famous and thousands of articles have been written about that person. And yet, thou shalt not deadname Elliot. Got it? Good.
