I slept with David Beckham and want to sell my story
Well, the fuss with my website has subsided somewhat. I've now had over 33 000 hits in the last 12 days thanks to the anonymous advertisement on AOL for April Fool's Day.

The most incredible thing happened today. April Fool's Day has traditionally never been particularly interesting in my life. However, today, since around 8am EST (USA is around eight hours behind), my website has received over 11 000 hits and is still rising. I managed to obtain the originating address, from AOL. I would like to thank whomever it was that put my URL on AOL's website, and for the resulting traffic. I just hope my ISP doesn't get too upset with me.
I have not been updating my blog as much as I would have liked to, but the good news is that I've been far too busy work-wise, so there you go. There is (are?) a number of various projects up my sleeve, and of course none too soon, as my retainer will be greatly reduced by the end of April at my old company.
Hooray! I’m finally connected to the Internet from home, using Wireless Internet technology.
What an ass I am! I upgraded the firewall from SmoothWall Express 1.0 to 2.0 at the end of last year, and to test out some of the new functionality, I noticed a certain IP address was seemingly attacking my network, so I blocked it. Today, about a month later, I discovered that the address was that of SmoothWall's website. I couldn't visit the URL, I couldn't download updates, nada. So now I feel silly. But I also realise that even SmoothWall's website being blocked proves how reliable the product is. Download it for your network. I endorse it.

Yesterday was my birthday. My better half is currently in Durban so could not join me, so my sister and her friends, plus two other friends, went out for dinner and drinks at a local casino mall … er, yes …
Almost the middle of December. One week and six days to Christmas. Ten days to my 27th birthday. And still no Internet access at home. I'm starting to get very anxious about that little fact, because it's going to affect my productivity if I'm working from there! I can still use the facilities at the office, even though I'm contracting, but it's inconvenient.
Whoooooooo! Civilization III is sooooooooo cooooooool. Ok, I’m going on about this but it really is so much better than Civilization and Civ II. Go out, put your money on the counter and get this!
I bought me a USB thumb drive today. It’s only 256MB, but that’s enough for me to carry around all of my web and software development files with me wherever I go. Talk about convenient. Now all I need is a laptop and I’ll be sorted.
