Preparing for Microsoft SQL Server training and certifications
I passed yesterday. I must have been half asleep last time, because my score was nearly 200 points higher this time around. MCSE: Data Platform is mine!
I failed by one or possibly two questions. My downfall is the multiple option questions, where you have to pick more than one possible answer. I remember exactly which questions lost it for me. I can rewrite earliest in two weeks, according to what I read. Still, I have MCSA! It’s not all for nothing.
I’ve just finished writing 70-464. As I commented at the end, I found the overall quality of the exam lower than the first three I wrote. Owing to the non-disclosure I sign for every one, I can’t talk about specifics, but there were numerous typos, product references were wrong, and in some cases, I readContinue reading 70-464 – Developing Microsoft SQL Server Databases
This week is intense. Yesterday (Monday) I wrote and passed 463 with my highest score yet. This surprised me greatly. It also means that I am a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: SQL Server 2012.
I wrote and passed this exam yesterday and I enjoyed it more than the first one. I was also shocked by the number of “braindump” sites, and even more shocking (but somehow not surprising, given that I come from aContinue reading Revision for SQL Server 2012 Exams
I’m taking the plunge to write all five SQL Server 2012 exams that are currently available, on my track to obtain the MCSM qualification (previously known as MCM, or Microsoft Certified Master). By going public with my plan, I hope to motivate myself to spend some time preparing properly for it. But in true RandolphContinue reading SQL Server 2012 Exams
There are words that can accurately describe how I’m feeling right now. These would include exhausted, drained, tired, sleepy, somnolent, and soporific. Then there are other words that can describe my state of mind, which would also be accurate: inspired, grateful, excited, awed, amazed, and invigorated. The latter have resulted in the former, and whileContinue reading My first week of three with SQLskills Immersion Events
Thus far I have made it through 11 of the MCM videos on SQLSkills.com, as well as the associated demos. There is a large amount of information in these videos, and I’ve been learning a lot. The point of this training next year is to fill in the blanks. I consider my T-SQL skills forContinue reading SQL Preparation, Part the Second
